To ensure you have the best experience on and off the course, we provide several layers of protection. While "insurance" and "protection" can sound similar, they serve different purposes.
Below is a breakdown of what is included with your registration at no cost versus the optional coverage you can add to protect your ticket.

1. Mutual of Omaha Accident Insurance
Status: Included with your registration at no additional cost.
We’ve partnered with Mutual of Omaha to offer an extra layer of personal protection specifically for our US-based racers. This acts as secondary coverage to your own health insurance that provides reimbursement for incurred medical costs arising from an injury suffered/obtained while participating in a Spartan event.
Accident Medical Expense: $100,000 limit (to help with out-of-pocket medical costs).
Death & Dismemberment: $10,000 limit.
Deductible: $500.

Eligibility & Rules: * Available for US Spartan events only.
Participants must have a US address.
Participants must be US Citizens.
Self-Claim Only: You can only claim this for yourself; you cannot claim for a ticket bought for someone else.
Minors: If under 18, a parent or guardian must sign the policy during the flow.

3. Refund Protect (Refundable Registration)
Status: Optional add-on available at checkout.
While the coverages above protect your physical health, Refund Protect protects your wallet. This is a way to safeguard your ticket against unplanned complications that prevent you from reaching the start line.
Coverage: Provides a 100% refund of your registration fees if you cannot attend the race due to covered unforeseen circumstances (e.g., sudden illness, injury prior to the race, jury duty, or travel failure).
