What is included in a paid photo package?
With the Sportograf package, you will receive:
- High-Resolution Digital Files: Up to 40 filtered, high-resolution photos of yourself.
- Stationary Trigger Cameras: Automated cameras positioned across the course for additional angles.
- Photo Certificate: A downloadable keepsake displaying your chosen photo with race location and finisher time overlay (available for specific events).
How to Purchase Photos
Before the Event (Best Value)
Purchasing early offers the best pricing. You can add a photo package in two ways:
- During Registration: Look for the Photo Package Add-On in your cart alongside items like SpartanTab, VIP Parking, and Spectator Passes before checkout.
- Via Your Spartan Account: Log into your account, navigate to Tickets, and select "Add a Photo Package" on your race ticket prior to race day. Ensure it is applied to the correct event ticket.
Biometric Consent & Onsite Identifiers
Per updated GDPR and privacy regulations, explicit consent is now required before facial recognition biometric markers are applied to event photos.
- Onsite Check-in Consent: During check-in at the event, a YES/NO consent selection screen will appear immediately after signing your digital waiver.
- Wearing Your Identifier Onsite: You must wear your designated identifier correctly based on your selection:
| Brand / Event | Consent (YES) | No Consent (NO) |
|---|---|---|
| Spartan Events | Headband worn on head | Headband worn on wrist |
| Tough Mudder Events | Bright yellow wristband | Standard / No yellow wristband |
| DEKA Events | Designated tracking wristband | Standard wristband |
| Trail Standalone Events | Colored paper bib | White paper bib |
- Opting Out: If you select "NO", your photos will still be captured and available for purchase, but facial recognition search will be disabled. You will need to search for photos manually using race time or obstacle location.
How to Find & Claim Your Photos After the Event
- Direct Access via Sportograf: Photo search within Spartan Accounts is currently disabled. Visit the Sportograf Website directly to locate your event.
- Timeline: Event photos and results are generally published on the Sportograf website 48 to 72 hours after the event.
- Facial Recognition Search: If you opted in onsite, upload a selfie on the Sportograf website to auto-match your photos.
- Manual Search: If you opted out of consent, search manually using your bib number, course locations, or time stamps, on the Sportograf website.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if I am running multiple events in one weekend?
If you are running multiple events in a single weekend (e.g., a Trifecta Weekend), you must purchase one photo package per day. Purchasing a Saturday package and a Sunday package covers all photos across both days, regardless of the number of distances completed.
Can multiple Spartans share one email address?
We strongly discourage registering multiple participants under a single email address, as your email serves as your unique system identifier for tickets and account management.
If you currently share an email address across multiple racers:
- Contact Support: Request our support team to separate the user profiles into unique accounts.
- Log In Separately: Once split, each racer can manage their individual ticket purchases and profile details independently.
Need Help? Who to Contact
Support inquiries are managed based on the specific issue:
- Spartan Support: Contact Spartan for help with account settings, ticket add-ons, or separating shared accounts.
- Sportograf Support: For photo matching, missing images, payment issues, or claiming post-race photo packages, contact support@sportograf.com.
