Sports are a universal language that unites people on and off the field of play, cutting across lines of race, ethnicity, education level, social status, and economic background.
Although everyone is welcome to participate in any Spartan Kids heat, the Special Spartans heat will provide a race environment to meet the unique needs of participants with cognitive impairment or physical disabilities and provide them the spotlight, inclusion, and raise awareness that everybody has an athlete within.
We offer a safe and structured environment where individual differences are embraced and where children and families feel comfortable expressing themselves and engaging fully in the Spartan community.
Racers may participate with a parent and/or caretaker and additional motivational support by Staff and Volunteers will be made available.
Obstacle completion is encouraged but not required.
Please speak to a Kids Staff member prior to the start of the event if you’d like the Kids Staff to further accommodate your racer's needs. (A staff member may be found at the Kids Start Line, Kids Finish Line, or floating around the Kids Festival and Kids Course)
