At most USA venues, spectators must purchase a pass to enter the festival area.
Online Price: $20 + processing fees.
On-Site Price (Race Day): $25 + processing fees.
Age Limits: There is no age limit to spectate. Kids 13 and under can enter as spectators for free.
⚠️ Important Deadline: Online spectator registration closes at 5:00 PM Eastern Time on the Friday before the race. After this deadline, passes must be purchased in person on race day.
How do I purchase a Spectator Pass online?
Head to the specific Spartan race event page.
Click the "Tickets" button for Spectators and select your event day (Saturday or Sunday).
Log in to or create your Spartan Account.
Review your order and enter your payment information.

Do I need a pass if my child is in the Kids Race?
Each Kids Race registration automatically includes two free Spectator Passes per family.
Registering one child grants two free passes; registering multiple children still grants a total of two free passes.
How to redeem: You do not need to register these spectators online. Simply bring your child to the event and check in at the Kids Race registration line to receive your two passes.
What is included with a Spectator Pass?
Your pass grants you full access to the Spartan Festival area, which includes:
Prime Viewing: Great views of the start line, finish line, and several major obstacles to cheer on your racers.
Festival Experience: Access to vendor tents, hot food and beverages for purchase, live music, spectator challenges, and entertainment.
The Atmosphere: Celebrate with your racers and enjoy the legendary muddy post-race energy!
Am I allowed on the race course?
Course and obstacle access varies by venue for safety reasons.
You are not permitted to walk along the actual racer paths, but you can hike alongside the course as long as you stay OUTSIDE of the course marking tape.
However, the festival area is purposefully designed so you can safely view several iconic obstacles.
At specific mountain venues (such as ski resorts), you may have the option to utilize a ski lifts or gondolas to access viewing areas at the top of the mountain.
How can I live-track my racer on race day?
Live tracking is available for most Spartan events so you can monitor your athlete's progress.
Online Tracking: If available for your event, a tracking link will be posted directly on the specific Event Details page on race day. Search your racer's name or bib number to follow along.
On-Site Tracking (Or if Cell Service is Low): If cellular service is spotty at the venue, head over to the Timing & Results Area in the festival village. You can use our provided digital tablets to look up your racer’s status.
ℹ️ How it works: This is a checkpoint-based tracking system, not a live GPS. The system updates every time your racer crosses physical timing mats placed at key milestones on the course, giving you a great estimate of when to head to the finish line to catch them crossing the fire jump!
What am I allowed to bring into the venue?
Rules can vary slightly by venue, so we always recommend checking the specific Athlete Guide or Event Page before arriving. In general, the guidelines are:
Allowed: Backpacks, folding lawn chairs, and strollers.
Prohibited: Outside food and drinks, coolers, and personal tents/canopies.
