Thank you for signing up to be the backbone of our race! To ensure you have a smooth and enjoyable experience on race day, a little preparation goes a long way. Here is everything you need to know before you arrive.
1. Check Your Details & Documents
Before you head out the door, make sure you have your credentials ready.
Print Your Barcode: Log in to your Spartan Account, navigate to the Volunteer Tab, and find your Upcoming Shifts. Please print your Volunteer Shift barcode and bring it with you to check-in.
Double-Check Your Times: Review your shift confirmation to confirm your start time. We want to get you checked in and stationed as efficiently as possible.
Read the Volunteer Info Pack: Every venue is unique. Locate the Volunteer Info Pack in your Spartan Account (under Upcoming Shifts). This document contains specific details for your event location, including parking maps and arrival instructions.
2. Dress for the Elements
Spartan Races happen rain or shine, and you will likely be exposed to the elements for the duration of your shift.
Check the Forecast: Plan to pack for the specific weather conditions of the day. Essentials often include sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, and sunglasses.
Layer Up: Weather can change quickly. Bring extra layers (like a rain jacket or a warm hoodie) so you can adjust as the day warms up or cools down.
Footwear Matters: Shifts often involve standing on uneven terrain for long periods. Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are a must. Leave the sandals at home and wear something you can stand in all day.
3. Fuel & Hydration
We want you to stay energized while you cheer on the racers.
Snacks & Water: We will provide light snacks and water for all volunteers.
Bring What You Need: If you have specific dietary needs or know you get hungry easily, please bring whatever extra food or hydration you need to feel comfortable for the duration of your shift.
Lunch Policy: Please note that ONLY full-day volunteers will be provided a light lunch in addition to snacks. If you are working a half-day shift, please plan accordingly.
