The Kids World Championship (KWC) 2026 is the ultimate test for young Spartans—bringing together the world’s most determined young athletes for an unforgettable challenge of endurance, skill, and grit.
The 2026 event will be held in Chongli, China, on August 8–9, offering a unique course and an exceptional championship experience.
Race Format
The KWC features competitive heats organized by both age and distance to ensure fair and exciting competition.
To create a more level playing field for this pinnacle event, the standard global age groups (9–11 and 12–14) will be extended and further subdivided as follows:
- 7-8 year olds: 4km race
- 9-10 year olds: 5km race
- 11-12 year olds: 5km race
- 13-14 year olds: 5km race
Every participant will receive a special championship medal upon finishing. The top 3 athletes in each age division will be awarded an exclusive Delta Award, honoring their elite performance.
Eligibility Criteria
- Age group placement is determined by the athlete’s age as of December 31, 2026.
- Athletes must be at least 7 years old on race day to participate in the competitive championship category.

How to Qualify
Young athletes can earn a spot at the Kids World Championship by meeting one of the following criteria:
Global Qualification (excluding China):
- Top 10 in competitive kids’ races
- Top 30 in the 2025 Kids EU and NAM Championships
- Top 10 in the 2025 Kids WC
- Wildcards: 5 for each market (plus 10 for the US) to invite high-performance athletes.
China Qualification:
- Top 5 in competitive kids’ races
- Top 10 in each competitive kids’ races (China City Series)
- Top 10 in each competitive kids’ races (China City Series Finals)
Please note: capacity is limited and spots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis until sold out. Wildcard entries are guaranteed and not subject to capacity limits.
