What types of volunteer shifts are available?

Find your perfect volunteer shift in the list below! 

  1. Pre/Post Race: Must be 18 years of age or older to sign up.

  • PRE-RACE VOLUNTEERS: Load-in and build volunteers help in basecamp, assist in building obstacles on the course, set up tents and fence lines, and help paint and mark the course. If you like working with your hands, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
  • POST-RACE/LOAD OUT VOLUNTEERS: Help our crew after the race by breaking down, cleaning up basecamp, and inventorying materials. If you love to organize, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

  1. Race Day: AM/PM shifts are approximately 8 hours (5:30 AM-2:00 PM, 1:00 PM-9:00 PM depending on race needs, location, shifts, and tasks). FULL DAY shifts are roughly 12 hours (7:00 AM-7:00 PM depending on race needs, location, shifts, and tasks)

  • FESTIVAL VOLUNTEERS: Help our Festival Team on race days at the finish line, start corral, festival challenges, showers, bag check, merchandise, and other festival operations. If you like to be around fast-paced action, this is the perfect shift for you!

      • Full day Festival
  •  REGISTRATION VOLUNTEERS: Help our registration staff greet, answer questions, and check in racers. If you’re good with computers and can put a smile on, this is the perfect shift for you!

      • AM REG
      • PM REG (Stadion events only)
      • FULL DAY REG (only available on Sundays)
  •  COURSE VOLUNTEERS: Help our build crew on race day(s) by VERBALLY instructing and motivating racers over obstacles and through the course. You will be responsible for reporting injuries and serving as our eyes and ears on the course. You may help reset or break down some obstacles. If you absolutely love our obstacles this is the perfect shift for you!

      • PRE-RUNNER
      • AM COURSE
      • PM COURSE
      • FULL DAY COURSE
      • SWEEP AND SCRUB
      • AM KIDS
      • FULL DAY KIDS (only available on Sundays)
  • BREAKDOWN VOLUNTEERS: Help teardown basecamp, assist in collapsing obstacles, packing up tents, and fence lines in the festival area.

  1. Friday Ultra Packet Pick-Up: Ultra Race events only

  • Registration opens on Friday to allow Ultra Racers (ONLY) to pick up their racer packets. If you want to hang out with our awesome staff, assist in registration, and greet racers, this is the perfect opportunity for you
