Updated: March 20, 2020

The world is a different place now than it was just weeks ago. Like every company, and individual, we’ve been affected. Others might say there’s a choice to be made: to sit back or to adapt. As Spartans, we made that choice over 10 years ago when we started the company. Adaptation is in our blood. Obstacles, in our DNA. For us, the only question is: HOW FAST?

Join us as we adapt to this new reality with the same speed we attack the race course. We are here for you and want to help you stay committed to your goals. To accomplish this and keep your momentum going, we’ve made three changes to our business.

1. We’re rescheduling races.

We’re dealing with unprecedented circumstances and have determined the best course of action is to follow the direction of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), who issued a guidance announcement on March 15th which strongly recommended postponing mass gatherings for eight weeks in order to slow the spread of COVID-19. Accordingly, we will suspend all events through May 15 and do everything we can to move all of them to future 2020 dates. Our highest priority is to help keep you safe and stop the spread of COVID-19. We believe that following these guidelines is the fastest path back to live races.

Upcoming Impacted Spartan OCR and Spartan Trail™ Races:
San Luis Obispo - March 14
San Antonio - March 14
Las Vegas - March 21
Charlotte - April 4
Citi Field - April 4
Atlanta 1 - April 4
Seattle 1 - April 4
San Diego City - April 11
Palm Beaches - April 25
Tri-State NJ 1 - April 25
Jacksonville City - May 2
Montana - May 2

What does this mean for you?

If your scheduled race is postponed, we will automatically move your registration to the new date. No further action is needed on your end. You may also transfer your registration to another 2020 race if you’re unable to attend the new date. Finally, we’re granting each affected racer one free entry into a 2021 race of their choice. Rescheduling updates and 2021 race codes will be sent to you in the coming weeks.

2. We’re bringing the race to you, virtually.

We’re not letting anyone off the hook. Keeping you committed is the Spartan way. For every race we postpone, we’re holding a virtual version in which you can compete whether you are social distancing or sheltering in place. Same day. Same intensity. Different obstacles. More details to come.

3. We’re delivering UNBREAKABLE content, 24/7.

In under a week, we’ve adapted from live events to UNBREAKABLE TV — a 24/7 video, social and editorial content hub that helps you train, think and eat like a Spartan every day. Start your mornings with a 6am workout and Spartan motivation with Joe. Drop into our 1,000 strong community video conference to support others and gain support as only Spartans can. Get the latest OCR updates from David Watson with live streams of “Under the Wire.” Work out with members of the Spartan Pro Team, try recipes with expert nutritionists, stay confident in the future with our chief mind doc and more, all free and all without leaving your home.

We’re also offering you a FREE 90-day subscription to Spartan EDGE™, our digital performance lab providing you with even more access to the top experts and tools you need to become UNBREAKABLE no matter the obstacle.

We’re grateful for your dedication, your support and your grit. Stay healthy, stay strong, and stay UNBREAKABLE. We’ll get through this together.

In a time when inspiration and resiliency are most needed, we have decided to quickly adapt how we rally and support our ever so strong Spartan community.

We have been working with local government agencies across the US in monitoring the effects of COVID-19, and as a result, we have suspended all scheduled events over the next 30 days. The majority of these events will be postponed until later in the season, with dates to be announced in the coming weeks.

We are offering free deferrals for anyone who has registered, or registers for a 2020 US Spartan Race®, Spartan Kids®, Spartan Trail™ or DEKAFIT™ event.

To support you over the next 30 days and to rally our community we are launching our FREE 30-day “BeUnbreakable” program across all spartan social channels. We want you to keep your bodies strong, minds sharp and spirits high so you are ready when the races return. BeUnbreakable will provide you with training and nutrition content and the inspiration you need to keep you motivated. Stay tuned for more details next week.

With COVID-19 impacting events across the globe, our international race markets will have different policies in place, so please pay attention to communications for your specific event for more information.

Thank you for your grit and commitment to the community.

Spartan has been monitoring, and continues to, closely monitor developments pertaining to the outbreak of the COVID-19 coronavirus which has, and will continue to impact some of our events across the globe.

In accordance with local government policies and/or requests, we have postponed several international events. We will continue to work with the local government authorities for all Spartan Race®, Spartan Kids®, Spartan Trail™, Tough Mudder® and DEKAFIT™ events, and monitor the Center for Disease for Control’s (CDC) Risk Assessments to ensure the safety of all who attend our events.

Unless you have been notified via email and on Spartan social media channels that one of our events has been postponed or cancelled, please assume that your event is still happening.

If a U.S. event for which you are registered is postponed or canceled, we will waive the deferral fee for you to register for a future event. If your event is taking place outside of the United States, we will follow a similar policy, but variations may be required, so please pay attention to communications for your specific event for more information.

Your safety is our number one priority. We are reviewing and implementing best practices in our race planning and operations to reduce the risk of exposure to the illness. Please be mindful and stay home if you are symptomatic (having fever, cough, or shortness of breath) or have recently traveled to a high-risk country. You can find more information about high-risk countries here:
