What is an Annual Pass?

In the United States, we are offering a single annual pass valid for ANY heat at all of our US Sprint, Super or Beast events (including our stadium events) that take place within 365 days of your purchase.

Your pass is valid for one chip-timed entry per day, per event. For pass holders that would like to run an additional timed lap, there will be an additional On-Site charge of $14 for a new timing chip, bib packet, finisher medal and shirt. As a pass holder, if you would like to run an additional UNTIMED lap, please see our registration team on site, on race day, for availability and approval.

NOTE: Your Annual Pass is unique to you and can not be shared. Pass usage is audited. If racers are discovered sharing passes, passes may be revoked and any race results disqualified. Annual passes are non-transferable once purchased.

What are the benefits?

All US Memberships include:

  • Entry into all events during the life of your pass
  • Pass valid for registration in Elite, Competitive, Morning or Afternoon Heats (Not Valid for Kids Races or Spectator registrations)
  • Reduced cost on multiple per day lap fees
  • Free Bag Check
  • Free Spectator Pass (for 2016 pass holders)
  • VIP Notification of New US Races Opening

How do I view my pass or confirm when it expires?

  1. Head over to your ChronoTrack account at: http://www.chronotrack.com and choose "Athlete Login" in the upper right corner. Please log in with the same email address that you used for your purchase.
  2. Once you are in your ChronoTrack Athlete profile, select the "Membership Tab" and you will see the Spartan Annual Pass Membership event.  This membership event indicates that you will be able to register for all events within the 365 of the purchase date.
  3. The expiration date will be listed under your membership.

How do I sign up with my new pass?

  1. Find an event on our Event Pages
  2. Click on Register button on the top of the event page you choose.
  3. When prompted, sign into your ChronoTrack account, using the SAME email address as you used to purchase your pass (THIS IS IMPORTANT).
  4. Once you select your preferred start time you will immediately see your registration discounted 100%, leaving you to pay only the $14 racer insurance (totals are reflected on the right hand side of the screen).
If you do NOT immediately see this discount, please contact our Customer Service team for assistance before proceeding.

How do I use my benefits?

Annual Pass Membership benefits are easy to use.

  • Race registration benefits can be used immediately upon purchase, as noted above (How do I sign up with my new pass?)
  • Free Bag Check is claimed simply by showing up to the event and providing your name at the Bag Check Tent. Only one free bag may be checked per Pass Holder. Additional bags will be subject to regular bag check fees.
  • Free Spectator Pass can be claimed by you or your spectator on race day at Spectator Registration. There will be an available pass under your name. You do NOT need to register the spectator online prior to race day.

Can I share my pass with a friend if I am not attending an event?

NO. The pass is only valid for the person it is registered to. If your pass is used to register someone else, their order will be cancelled. If it is caught after the event, they will be DQ'ed and their results removed from the event. Your pass will also be revoked with no refunds given. There is a zero tolerance policy on Annual Pass abuse. No excuses, no exceptions.

Can I use it on the Hurricane Heats?

Yes. If you purchased the 2015 pass (priced at $549) however, the Annual Pass may be used on EITHER the Hurricane Heat (regular or HH12HR) OR a regular race registration. Your Annual Pass will not allow you to register for both a race registration and a HH at no cost. Signing up for the HH event will use your free entry for that day even if the HH heat is being held on a different day such as our Friday night HH.

If you purchased the 2016 pass (priced at $699) the pass includes both the normal HH and the 12 hour HH. However if you have already signed up for the race you will need to contact customer service at US@spartan.com for a code to use.

International Passes

For questions or concerns regarding our Canadian or UK passes, please contact our International Team members here

What else do I need to know?

  • The US season pass is only valid on eligible races in the US.
  • The Spartan Membership guarantees entry to every event during the life of your pass, but does not guarantee entry into a specific heat. The registration Team will give priority to Membership holders when adjusting heat assignments, or accepting last minute registrations, but requests will still be subject to space limitations.
  • Specialty races such as the Ultra Beast, Charity races, or other possible special events including ones put on by Spartan's Partners may not be included, or may be included at a reduced rate. Events that are NOT Annual Pass Eligible will be indicated on the Event Page for that specific event.
  • The pass cannot be put on hold in the case of injury, moving, or any other reasons.
  • We are not able to credit current or past registrations toward the cost of a pass.
  • We are not able to refund current registrations if you buy a pass after signing up for an event.
  • The pass is non refundable and non transferable.
  • When you sign up with the pass we are not able to transfer that registration to another person or event and the insurance and other other fees paid are non refundable.
  • At this time you are not able to purchase the pass for someone else. The pass does need to be purchased through the intended racers ChronoTrack account.
  • Annual Pass Holders have access to sold out events, however not sold out heats. If an event is completely sold out we will accommodate you in the afternoon session.

If you have any additional questions, or specific concerns, please don't hesitate to let us know.

Not seeing a Membership tab. There is an Events tab which has sub-tabs of Upcoming and Past events. Past does show my past races, but Upcoming shows nothing. All the other tabs are for editing my information. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Aja, I just purchased my annual pass and I purchased a few races that I paid extra for confirmed start times. Now the 2015 pass will allow entry into any heat. Will I get a refund for those races? Willl my pass be eligible for any heat in the future?

    Hello,

If you earned an annual pass for the point awards, it would be good for any heat.

The link to purchase has now been added to the top of the article and you can see all of the pricing details from in there.

If you did not purchase a membership (which since it just went live now it is likely you did not purchase one yet) the membership tab will not show up.

Ryan, the new pass will cost more than the old annual pass you purchased so it will not include all of the heats and you would not be refunded for any fees paid already.

Does this count towards Elite waves? They were more last year. Will they cap elite wave size since this will likely jump that wave size?

    Hi Greg,

This is 1 single Pass that covers all of the race heats including the elite heat. The elite heat will be capped like every other heat is, just as same as it was in 2014.

    Thanks,

I assumed the Ultra was out as it is stated above but the Beast and Sprint are still viable. Just not sure what is classified as a Specialty/Special Race and registration hasn't opened to indicate whether the pass can be used.

"Specialty races such as the Ultra Beast, Charity races, or other possible special events including ones put on by Spartan's Partners may not be included."

    Hi Ryan,

We are working out details to potentially allow racers to pay the $150 difference and upgrade. Be on the lookout for an update soon.

It does not include the ultra beast, but will give you a 55% discount off the event.

The World Championship race will be included as it is a beast.

There typically isn't many races the pass is not good for beyond the ultra beast, however last year for example we put on an event with Reebok at their headquarters. That event was not included, as it was put on by them directly. That was the only "special" race last year that was not included.

    Hello,

Yes, as a spartan membership holder you are able to gain access into any event including a sold out event. You will just need to visit us on race day and the team will get you set up.

To get the discount for the new pass you will use your current pass code (starts with a SPC or SPCE) to get that discount. However the code will not be valid until the month your current pass expires. So if you pass if valid until February 20th 2015 than the code will be valid starting on 2/1/15. If your pass expired from Nov 1, 2014 – Jan 31, 2015 your code is now loaded.

If you signed up and did not get your discount or did not know about it, please email into us at US@Spartan.com and make sure to include your old pass number and we will see what we can do for you at this time.

    Hi

I was going to purchase the annual pass at $400 (SPC?) instead of registering for races during black friday weekend discounts. If I knew Spartan was going to change the pass without mention I would have purchased the $400 pass earlier or registered with black friday discounts. This does not sit well with me financially - Is there a way to purchase the $400 pass anymore? $150 is a BIG jump and I planned to do 2 trifectas which I don't think makes sense to get the pass anymore. Please help.

Hi Aaron, unfortunately, the new pass is the only pass offered at this time. However, if you're intending to do two trifectas in 2015, the pass would still be a great value for you and save you money, particularly if you factor in the "extras" like bag check, travel discounts, guaranteed entry even if an event sells out, etc. My guess is that if you do the math for the events you want to do, you'll find that the pass is more bang for you buck!

Yes, you can show up at the event and gain entry even if the event is sold out.

The annual pass is not valid towards the cruise, however we have a promotion going on right now. Here are the details: http://run.spartanrace.com/webmail/23832/844308071/daed0a1ceb04bd0907ec1a3967407b39

The email I received that provided me with my renewal discount code also mentioned that there is an option to upgrade to the new pass if I recently purchased my annual pass in 2014. What is the cost for the upgrade? Is the only difference the addition of the Global Rescue Assistance and Spartan Membership Discount Program?

    Goodcalife,
If you recently purchased your pass in 2014, Customer Service can certainly explore some upgrade options with you. The fee and eligibility is dependent on when you purchased it, as well as which of the old passes you purchased (Elite or Open).
Currently, the additional benefits different benefits that you would receive by upgrading to the 2015 "new" pass would be the Global Rescue and the Discount Program Membership, that's correct! All the race-related perks, like free bag check, are included with your "old" pass, regardless.
