Team Registration and Start Times

The only way to ensure that you will start at the exact same time as your friends is to create a Team. You can create a team during the registration process for your friends to join (or join your friend's team).

Any racers that are registered as part of the same team on the SAME DAY in the SAME TIME BLOCK, will be moved to a common team start time when start times and bib numbers are assigned (Start times will be posted 10 days prior to the event). Racers that are registered for Sunday will not be moved to Saturday with a team, or vice versa.

For example, if a team has members registered for BOTH Morning and Afternoon Time Blocks, all Morning Time Block team members will be moved together within the Morning Time Block, and all Afternoon Time Block team members will be grouped together within the Afternoon Time Block.

Team start times are NOT determined by the captain's preferred time. Spartan Race does reserve the right to adjust your start time (within the same time block - Morning or Afternoon), despite your "preferred" start times, based on team size and space availability.

Racers that are registered for Elite, Age Group, or Morning start times will NOT be moved to the Afternoon team time. We assume that racers who have paid extra for these heat times would like to remain in them. Elite, Age Group, and Morning racers will still count as part of your team, but will not be moved out of their registered time blocks. If you are registered for the Elite, Age Group, or Morning Time Block and request to be moved to an Afternoon start time, no refund will be provided for the price difference. Whether or not this request is able to be accommodated is dependent on your desired heat's availability.

Racers that are registered for Afternoon heats will not be moved into teams signed up for Elite, Age Group, or Morning start times, unless they pay the difference in price. This is also dependent on the desired heat's availability.

For a complete explanation of Elite, Age Group, Morning, and Afternoon Time Blocks for our events, please see the following article:  Elite, Age Group, Morning, and Afternoon Time Blocks

Any racer who has already registered but wishes to join a team or change teams must do so at least 21 days prior to the race, to allow time for processing. After your registration is complete, you cannot make team changes within 21 days of race day.

    Hi Lorenzo,
It appears that you're based in the UK, so the teams are handled differently than this article indicates. However, I do see that we have an open issue for you in process, to look into why your teammates are not getting your emails. Thank you!

    Hi Aja,

Do you know if in order to get the team discount we have to pay all at the same time? I got the discounted fee but other people joining the team are asked to pay full price.

Lorenzo, for the UK, teams of 4 and 10 get a discount on registration only if they register and pay at the same time. Individuals signing up later and joining the team would be asked to pay full price.

My team has three but needs at least one more. If there is a pair of two that would like to run together but don't have enough, join our team OneHit. We don't expect you to run with us but we would start together. We plan on a morning time. You can join and just run with your friend that way we all can run with who we signed up with.

    Adrian,
If you log into your Chronotrack account (here's how: https://spartanrace.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/203393636-How-do-I-log-into-my-Chronotrack-account-to-view-edit-my-upcoming-2015-events-)
you'll have the option to manage your team. Any member of the team can view the whole team roster and see who's already signed up!

I am also attempting to still resolve or wait for an answer about my times from the NY Citifield Sprint race in May 2015. It has been a month with no resolution and several emails. Sorry to use this venue to request an update or resolution. Please advise.

    Brian,
In order to create a team AFTER registering, you do need to contact Customer service to do that for you.
I see that your email is in our queue and should be answered shortly. Stay tuned!

    Hi this Mackenzie,

I was just wondering that if I my team consists of people under the age of 18, do their parents have to sign something before the race?

    Mackenzie,
Yes, all participants under the age of 18 would need waivers signed by their parent or guardian. Waivers are available on the website (or there will be a link in your pre-race email) under the "race day" section.
We will have waivers on site on race day, if you forget!

With your new website layout, i've noticed the bid # and start time from Race Day tab has been removed. When can we expect this section of the site to return?

No responses or follow up whatsoever to my inquiry about setting up a team and my times from the Spartan sprint at Citifield on May 9th. What do I need to get these resolved? This isn't customer friendly at all.

    Hi Brian,

I see that you wrote us late Monday night. Due to the volume of emails from this weekends events we are a little behind on emails not involving the weekends races. We will answer your ticket soon.

I do see we have your timing ticket also and the team will be handling that as soon as they can. They need to review the pictures and data for each racer to ensure a fair finish time is posted so it is a time consuming process.

Ok Gary. So would it be easier just to have my friend sign up and create a team. I can just transfer that and you can delete my inquiry. Also while I understand races happened this weekend it been close to month since my race at Citifield so I think is reasonable to ask for resolution.

@Enrique Rojas - YOU are a LIFE SAVER!!!
If not for that link you provided, I would not have had a cluse when my start time was, as I never received that confirm and they have no links from the website to go to find out, except to send it to this page.

    All,
As you have noticed, with the shift to our new website, a couple of pieces of information are missing in the transition. Currently racer bibs and start times are not available on the website. However, our tech team is correcting this and they will be available, as usual (on the "Race Day" section of the appropriate event page), very soon.

How is it that this race in Colorado is so unorganized?

    HI Ron,
Not sure what you're referring to?
The Breckenridge start times, info, etc. is all up on the website now, as per usual. We had a minor blip a couple of days ago, with the transition over to the new site, but all the usual information is back there for you.
If you bring up the Breckenridge event, scroll past the pricing tables on the main page and you'll see that it defaults to "race day info" (like parking, location, etc.). There's a second tab for Bib Info (where your start times are) as well as "live updates" if you want to set those up.
    Check it out!
